Change "Unknown Files" value of "Direct File Access" problema
Hello, We have two CAS Exchange 2007 SP2. We are having a problem configuring "Direct File Access" in OWA web site. If we include new extensions on Allow, Block or Force Save lists it works well, but if we change the value of "Unknown Files" from Force Save to Allow OWA continues to force users to save files with unknown extensions. We have tried to restart iis and restart the server. We have make changes in all two CAS. We don't know why it happens because we have another Exchange organization with same configuration and it works fine. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Raúl

Hi, Does the status of "Unknown Files" show "Allow" in the OWA Properties now? Or is the setting revert back to "Force Save"? At this stage, I suggest you type the following command to view the attribute for Unknown Files in Direct File Access Properties. Get-owavirtualdirectory –identity "owa*" | f1 *unknown* Then, you will get a result. Please check the result about the ActionForUnknownFileAndMIMETypes attribute. If the result display Force Save, please type the following command to change it to Allow and check the result again. Set-owavirtualdirectory –ActionForUnknownFileAndMIMETypes: Allow For more information about the above command, please refer to the following article: Set-OwaVirtualDirectory However, if the issue persists, I suggest you use ADSIEDIT tool and navigate to the following location. CN=HTTP, CN=Protocols, CN=ComputerName, CN=Servers, CN=Exchange Administrative Group, CN=Administrative Groups, CN=DomainName, CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=Services, CN=Configuration, DC=DomainName, DC=com. In the right panel of CN=HTTP, please right click CN=OWA(Default Web Site) and click Properties, and then locate the attribute: msExchOWAActionForUnknownFileAndMIMETypes. Please double click the attribute and assure the key is 0 (0 means Allow and 2 means Block). For more information about ADSIEDIT tool, please refer to the following article: ADSI Edit (adsiedit.msc) Thanks, NovakPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, Action for unknown File and Mime Types was Allow and was set correctly. The problem was that though we didn't have the extension in any list, the content of the file was recognized for Exchange as one of the Mime Types defined in the Force Save list. We remove Mime Types defined in Force Save list and now it works fine. Thanks, Raul
